Farmers have until December 11th to sign up for the 2026 ARC-PLC farm safety net program. Local Farm Service Agency officials say producers should begin the process now, with less than 8% enrolled so far.
FSA Director Nicki Miranowski says harvest season is a good time to review the available options.
Producers can choose Agricultural Risk Coverage at the county level, Agricultural Rish Coverage at the individual level or Price Loss Coverage. Farmers can contact their local FSA office to have contracts sent electronically for signature or stop in to sign paperwork.
Miranowski warns that missing the deadline means losing eligibility for a potential 2026 program payment, even if farmers remain enrolled in their previous program choice, there are no exceptions.
Enrollment must be completed through the local FSA office, as the sign up is no longer available through farmers.gov. Miranowski encourages producers to finish by mid-November to avoid a last minute rush.
Farmers are encouraged to contact their local FSA office soon to complete enrollment.
