The Blue Earth City Council is considering a change that would streamline the process for simple lot splits and combinations.
The council held the first reading of an ordinance amendment that would allow the city’s Zoning Administrator to administratively approve qualifying lot splits and combinations without Planning Commission or City Council approval. A public hearing will be held at the council’s next meeting, followed by a second reading of the ordinance.
In other business, the council approved Change Order Number One for the Riverside Heights Improvement Project. The change reduces the contract by just over $8,000, bringing the new total to approximately $5.17 million.
The change adjusts the number of septic tank abandonments and increases sanitary sewer cleanout installations. Project completion dates remain unchanged.
