A farm tractor rollover in rural Wells has claimed the life of a 48 year old Walters man and seriously injured two children.
The Faribault County Sheriff’s Office say Timothy Glen Steinborn was operating an Oliver 770 tractor around 12:44 Tuesday afternoon near 570th Avenue and 108th Street when the tractor entered a steep east ditch and rolled over.
An eight year old and 10 year old boy were also on the tractor. All three were trapped underneath the tractor and had to extricated by emergency crews.
The 10 year old was taken by ambulance to a local hospital and then airlifted to Mayo Clinic in Rochester. The eight year old was airlifted directly from the scene.
Both children suffered suspected serious injuries. Steinborn was pronounced dead at the scene.
The accident remains under investigation by the Faribault County Sheriff’s Office and Minnesota State Patrol.
