Drought Conditions Worsen in MN, Iowa Sees Little Change, According to Drought Monitor

Drought conditions continue to worsen across Minnesota, while Iowa saw little change in the latest U.S. Drought Monitor.

In Minnesota, nearly 45% of the state is now in severe drought, up slightly from last week, while 3.5% is experiencing extreme drought.  Overall, more than 95% of Minnesota is considered abnormally dry or worse.

Conditions remain much better in Iowa. About  30.5% of the state is abnormally dry or in drought, virtually unchanged from last week.  Just under 20% is in moderate drought, while less than one percent is experiencing severe drought.

Nearly 70% of Iowa remains free of drought or abnormally dry conditions.
