Minnesota and Iowa corn is progressing quickly, according to the latest USDA crop report.
In Minnesota, 92% of the corn crop has reached the dough stage, up from 82% a week ago and well ahead of the five year average of 79%. Fifty two percent is dented, compared with 28% last week.
In Iowa, 90% of corn is in the dough stage, up from 83% a week ago, while 47% is dented, compared with 26% last week.
Corn condition is rated good to excellent on 64% of Minnesota acres and 78% in Iowa.
For soybeans, 96% of Minnesota beans have set pods, compared with 88% in Iowa. Soybean condition is rated good to excellent on 65% of Minnesota acres and 77% in Iowa.
