The Blue Earth Area School Board held a special meeting Monday night, moved from its normal schedule, to allow the district to canvass results from last week’s special election.
Superintendent Mandy Fletcher also updated the board on preparations for the new school year. New teachers began three days of training on Tuesday, with all teachers returning next week and the full staff back August 27th.
The district is also moving forward with planning for the future elementary school, with staff and community members touring newer elementary buildings Friday for design ideas.
The board approved several items, including new staff hires, fall coaches, employee contracts and a cardiac emergency response plan.
The board also accepted a $3,466 donation from Tvedten Electric for football headsets and approved the December 31st retirement of longtime Fiscal Services Coordinator Alan Wilhelmi.
