Motorists across south central Minnesota should expect delays beginning July 20th as the Minnesota department of Transportation starts seal coat work on several state highways and Interstate 90, weather permitting.
The project includes Highway 22 from Mapleton to Wells, Highway 15 from north of Truman to the Highway 30/60 intersection, Highway 30 from Highway 169, north of Amboy to Blue Earth County Road 40 and Highway 15, south of Louisville to Watonwan County Road 24 and Interstate 90 from Sherburn to Fairmont.
Traffic will be controlled with flaggers and pilot cars and drivers should expect delays. One day ramp closures are also planned on Highway 15.
Drivers are urged to slow down and watch for loose gravel, fresh oil, workers and equipment in work zones.
Each highway segment will take about a week to complete. Temporary striping will be applied a few weeks later under traffic, with the overall project expected to wrap up by early September. Permanent pavement markings will be installed next summer.
