Kossuth County is receiving federal funding to help modernize healthcare equipment.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture has awarded two $300,000 grants through Corn Belt Power Cooperative and Algona Municipal Utilities to replenish revolving loan funds. The initial loans will help Kossuth Regional Health Center in Algona purchase new radiology equipment, modernizing the department and creating one new job.
The funding is part of more than $19 million the USDA is investing in rural Iowa to improve healthcare, infrastructure and economic development.
