Construction activity is expected to begin soon on two major development projects in Blue Earth.
During Monday’s Blue Earth City Council meeting, City Engineer Ben Rosol provided updates on both the Riverside Heights development and the Linton Street Reconstruction Project.
Rosol said Holtmeier Construction is preparing to begin work on the Riverside Heights project. Equipment could start arriving later this week, with work expected to begin in the pond area on June 22nd. The following week, crews are scheduled to start work related to the lift station, which is one of the first phases of the project before construction moves into the main development area.
Rosol also reported progress on the Linton Street Reconstruction Project. A preconstruction meeting was held last week and a neighborhood information meeting is scheduled for Tuesday from 4:30 to 6pm at City Hall. Residents affected by the project have been invited to meet with city staff and the contractor to discuss construction plans and timelines.
The city is currently finalizing contracts for the project. Once completed, tree removal will begin. Rosol said contractor GM Contracting is expected to move equipment into the area shortly after the Fourth of July holiday, with construction set to start on the south end of the project.
