Sirens began sounding after 7pm Sunday across southern Minnesota, alerting area residents about severe weather. The northeast bound storm system crossed into Minnesota near Fairmont, then moved through the southwest part of Blue Earth County.
Watonwan County Law Enforcement reported a tornado was spotted around 7:15, as the storm moved across the Lewisville area toward Truman, where it may have touched down briefly on the southwest edge of town.
Truman’s first tornado warning was allowed to expire at 7:45pm and a new warning was issued minutes later after radar detected another wave of weather conditions possible of creating tornadoes.
Faribault County Residents were warned at 7:50 of the possibility of a tornado west of Winnebago as part of a storm system that moved north toward Amboy and Rapidan.
Severe storm warning were also issued for St. James area residents.
