Faribault County residents went to the polls yesterday for a special election to decide whether the County Recorder should be appointed rather than elected at the expiration of the current term.
The unofficial results from Tuesday’s special election was 437 in favor of making the Recorder’s position appointed, with 377 against.
With these results, the County Recorder’s position will now be appointed by the Faribault County Board of Commissioners in the future.
