United Hospital District in Blue Earth has entered a new era of surgical care.
The hospital officially launched its new Da Vinci 5 robotic surgical system on Tuesday with their first robotic assisted surgery using the new system.
Hospital leaders say the system allows surgeons to perform procedures with greater precision using small incisions, while still maintaining full control throughout surgery.
For patients, that can mean less pain, shorter hospital stays and faster recovery times.
United Hospital District says the investment will help more patients receive high quality, advanced care without having to travel far from home.
