Area producers are reminded of a couple important deadlines coming up in April.
Faribault County FSA Executive Director Nicki Miranowski says the Farmer Bridge Assistance Program deadline is April 17th, with about 10$ of eligible producers still not enrolled. She says it’s a quick and simple process that can be completed online through farmers.gov, where planted acres are automatically pulled into the application.
The second program, the Supplemental Disaster Relief Program, has a deadline of April 30th for both State 1 and Stage 2. Miranowski says Stage 1 covers indemnified losses, while State 2 addresses shallow losses that didn’t trigger crop insurance payments. About 3% of Stage 1 and 25% of Stage 2 applications are still incomplete.
Unlike the bridge program, producers will need to contact the FSA Office directly to complete their disaster applications, though appointments are not required.
Producers with questions are encouraged to call their local FSA Office for assistance.
