The Farm Service Agency office in Faribault County is reminding producers of several upcoming sign up deadlines, including key Conservation Reserve program dates and new assistance through the Farmer Bridge Program.
Faribault County FSA Executive Director Nicki Miranowski says the continuous CRP sign up opened February 12th and runs through March 20th. Because of national acreage caps and the absence of a new farm bill, producers are strongly encouraged to begin the process well before the deadline. Continuous CRP includes practices such as waterways, restored wetlands and wildlife habitat. Appointments are required due to the detailed application process.
A general CRP sign up will run March 9th through April 17th. Unlike continuous CRP, general CRP is a competitive national bid process.
The Farmer Bridge Assistance Program opened Monday and runs through April 17th. Producers may apply online at farmers.gov or in person at the FSA Office. No appointment is required for Bridge signup.
Additional deadlines include the Dairy Margin Coverage program for 2026, which ends Thursday, February 26th.
