The Faribault County Board of Commissioners met Tuesday morning and approved bids for two major highway projects, marking a positive start for the County’s Public Works agenda. County Engineer April Wellman reported that both projects were successfully bid earlier than usual, attracting strong contractor interest.
County State Aid Highway 19 came in $309,000 under budget, while County State Aid Highway 23 was $113,000 below its estimate. Both projects will be handled by Ulland Brothers and are part of ongoing pavement reconstruction and rehabilitation efforts across the county. Combined, the two projects are expected to cost roughly $5.5 million, representing significant savings for the county.
Commissioners expressed satisfaction with the outcomes, noting that early bidding not only keeps projects on schedule, but also helps maximize county resources while maintaining critical infrastructure.
