The city of Trimont is set to receive $1 million in federal funding as part of a broader rural water infrastructure investment announced by Congressman Brad Finstad.
Finstad says the funding will support critical projects across southern Minnesota, including water treatment upgrades and pipeline replacements aimed at improving public health and system reliability.
Trimont is among 11 communities receiving funding through the $11.4 million package. Other cities included are Blooming Prairie, Butterfield, Dennison, Eagle Lake, Manchester, Nerstrand, Pine Island, Okabena, Pemberton and Rochester.
Finstad said the investments will help small communities modernize aging infrastructure and ensure access to safe, reliable drinking water.
The funding will be distributed to local governments to support planning and construction of the projects.
