The Faribault County Farm Bureau is hosting an informal forum to address questions surrounding energy needs and land use contracts.
The session will be held Tuesday, January 20th, form 6 to 8:30pm at the Winnebago Municipal Building and is open to the public.
Faribault County Farm Bureau President Jacob Kral says the topic has generated significant discussion during recent meetings across the country, as communities face growing energy demands.
Kral says expanding access to reliable energy often requires new infrastructure and land access, making it critical for landowners to understand how contracts may affect agriculture, land use and the environment in the long term.
The forum will include presentations and time for questions. Russ Elmer of Wells will moderate the discussion.
Invited speakers include Hunter Pederson of the Minnesota Farm Bureau, Albert Lea Attorney Matt Benda, representatives from USDA Rural Development and the Minnesota Public Utilities Commission, as well as local elected officials.
