A Bricelyn woman is facing a gross misdemeanor DWI charge following a traffic stop in rural Faribault County.
According to court documents, 44 year old Sarah Louise Willette was charged with operating a motor vehicle with an alcohol concentration of 0.08 or higher within two hours, along with a petty misdemeanor for failing to stop at a stop sign.
Authorities say a Faribault County Sheriff’s Deputy initiated a traffic stop on January 10th after observing a vehicle fail to stop at a posted sign at a railroad crossing. During the stop, the deputy reported that Willette had slurred speech and smelled of alcohol.
A preliminary breath test reportedly showed a blood alcohol concentration of 0.209. Willette consented to a formal breath test, which registered a BAC of 0.22.
Bail was set at $750 with conditions or $12,000 without conditions. Release conditions include remaining law abiding, abstaining from alcohol and controlled substances, submitting to random testing and appearing at all future court dates.
