The Faribault County Board of Commissioners approved a series of routine contracts, donations and administrative items during its recent meeting.
Commissioners approved a contract services agreement between Faribault County and the Faribault County Soil and Water Conservation District. The agreement covers shared personnel, equipment and services, including feedlot and planning and zoning functions. The agreement remains unchanged from last, with no cost increases.
Veterans Service Officer Jennifer Howard presented a list of donated items from local legions, posts, organizations and individuals. The board approved the donations, which allow the Veterans Service Office to take control of the items. Among them was a donation of frozen meat, which will be stored in a freezer at the Veterans Service Office and made available to veterans in need.
Auditor – Treasurer Chuck Schrader provided an update on tax forfeited land sales. Folling resolution of a Minnesota Supreme Court Case that delayed sales statewide, the county moved forward with 23 properties. Sixteen were sold, with 11 selling above the minimum bid. Seven properties did not sell and will be offered again at a later date.
In Human Resources business, the board approved minimum salaries for three elected county offices, as required annually by state law. The approved base salaries are $124,508 for County Attorney, $124,376 for Sheriff and $89,689 for County Recorder.
