Blue Earth County will host a public open house on Tuesday to share updates and gather input on the proposed replacement of the Rapidan Dam Bridge.
The open house runs from 4-6pm at the Historic Courthouse and will feature County Public Works Staff and project designers from TKDA. Attendees can review work completed so far, view a preliminary bridge design and learn about the next steps in the project.
Public Works Director Ryan Thilges said the meeting marks the county’s primary public outreach effort as the project moves forward. The bridge replacement is separate from any future decision about the dam itself.
Estimated costs for the bridge have increased from about $18 million to $27 million due largely to design changes intended to improve flood and scour resilience.
