The Martin County Board of Commissioners took several actions during their meeting Tuesday, including personnel updates, contract approvals and budget decisions.
Commissioners were introduced to new Human Resources Technician Teresa Montgomery and recognized the retirements of Debra Eversman from the Assessor’s Office after more than 27 years of service and Christine Hasek form the Martin County Library after more than five years.
The board approved a contract with Community and Economic Development Associates (CEDA) for county economic development services. Under the agreement, the Martin County EDA will pay CEDA $49.42 per hour for staff time, not to exceed $102,781 annually.
Commissioners also approved a personnel policy related to Minnesota Paid Leave, which includes splitting premium contributions evenly between employees and the county and requiring employees to meet state eligibility standards.
In addition, the board approved the 2026 County Levy with a 5.85% increase.
