On Tuesday, the Minnesota Foundation for Agriculture and the Minnesota Farm Bureau Federation presented a $500 check to the Wells Food Shelf on behalf of an area Farmfest daily drawing winner.
The drawing was part of a daily double award prize at Farmfest, where a winner was drawn daily for a $500 cash prize, sponsored by Farm Bureau Financial Service and the recipient then selected a local food shelf to receive a matching $500 donation. The donation to the identified food shelf was sponsored by the Minnesota Foundation for Agriculture and the Minnesota Farm Bureau. The drawing occurred each afternoon as part of the three day annual farm show activities at the Farm Bureau Hub.
Jacob Sorensen of Alden had his name drawn and along with this monetary award he designated the Wells Food Shelf as the local charity.
