Following Randy Travis‘ stroke in 2013, which left him in a coma and with less than a one percent chance of survival, doctors considered ending treatment amid severe infections and complications. “They said, ‘We need to pull the plug. He’s got too many things going against him,'” his wife Mary revealed in an emotional new interview with Fox News Digital. Mary refused to give up on her husband, and she recalled sharing a “magical moment” with Travis where she knew that the country legend was still fighting for his life. “That’s when I knew that Randy Travis was gonna make it, because he squeezed my hand and a tear went down his face. I said, ‘He’s still fighting,’” Mary shared, telling the doctors at the time, “That man right there, he wants to fight, and y’all are gonna fight with him.” Mary helped inspire Travis’ remarkable recovery over the next decade, though he still lives with lasting effects, including limited speech from aphasia and reliance on a wheelchair.
