AAA Estimates a Record Number of Americans to Drive to Destinations During the July 4th Holiday

AAA is forecasting a significant increase in domestic travel during the Independence Day holiday period from June 28^th to July 6^th.

According to AAA, 72.2 million Americans are expected to travel, marking a 2.4% increase over last year and a notable rise from 2019.

AAA estimates that 61.6 million Americans will drive, which is a 2.2% increase from last year and the highest number ever recorded.  In Minnesota, many will head to lakefront destinations or local fireworks shows.

Gas prices are averaging $3.10 per gallon, about 10 cents less than last year’s holiday.
