On Wednesday afternoon, Blue Earth County Deputies were dispatched to 200th Street and Highway 60, near Lake Crystal, for a crash involving a semi and a train.
The Union Pacific Train was traveling west with a mix of tanker cars and box cars. The tanker cars were believed to be carrying ethanol and none of the cars sustained any damage or leakage. The semi, driven by 59 year old Jerry Lee Budeau of Bismark, North Dakota, was traveling west on Highway 60 carrying paper products and packing materials. Budeau turned into 200th Street and the train collided with the trailer.
