The Blue Earth City Council approved several measures Monday night related to airport improvements and future water infrastructure projects.
Approved was Resolution 2606, authorized a state airport bond grant agreement for the construction of a five unit T-hangar at the Blue Earth Municipal Airport.
City Administrator Dawn Collins said the resolution formalizes the agreement with the state for supplemental funding that has already been awarded.
Construction on the project has already begun after the city received notice of the award, with work starting during recent favorable weather.
The council also approved three resolutions allowing engineering firm Bolton & Menk to apply for funding through the state’s Drinking Water Revolving Loan Fund for upcoming water system improvements.
Approved resolutions include: applying for funding for the South Linton area water project, applying for funding for the North Water Main Loop project and applying for funding for lead service line replacement in the South Linton area.
City officials said the loan fund applications will support projects that have already been identified as priorities for the city’s water system improvements.
All three resolutions were approved unanimously by the council.
