Tri-Valley Opportunity Council is preparing to open a new Head Start Center in Blue Earth this summer through a partnership with St. Luke’s Lutheran Care Center.
The center will provide free early childhood education and family services for infants, toddlers, preschoolers and pregnant women, primarily serving families working in agriculture. Services are expected to begin in June.
Tri-Valley is currently renovating a win of the care center to create classrooms and program spaces that meet Minnesota licensing requirements and federal Head Start Programs.
Officials say the program will provide nutrition and health services, developmental screening, transportation assistance and family support.
The center is relocating service from Winnebago to Blue Earth to be closer to where many families live and work. Once construction is finished, Tri-Valley plans to host a community open house to introduce the new facility.
