The Faribault County Board of Commissioners approved several public works projects at the meeting Tuesday, including awarding a nearly $2 million contract to R&E Enterprises of Mankato for five bridge replacements using cost effective box culverts. The projects, spread across five townships, came in under budget.
The Public Works Department also announced a federal grant of $477,000 to install rumble strips on a section of County Road 14 to improve safety on a road with a history of accidents.
In addition, the board approved the purchase of a used 2023 F-150 from the Sheriff’s Office for $26,000, which will be transferred for use in county maintenance operations.
