A Blue Earth man has been charged with one felony county of possession of a firearm as a convicted felon, one felony count of receiving stolen property and one gross misdemeanor count of domestic assault – subsequent violation.
Authorities say the incident occurred on January 25th, when 31 year old Kain Brice Jepson allegedly brandished a handgun during an argument with a former girlfriend, telling her to leave. The victim later reported that Jepson kept firearms in the home despite being prohibited from owning them due to a prior felony conviction for a controlled substance crime.
A search of Jepson’s residence turned up a black Ruger 5.7 handgun and four magazines, which had been reported stolen from Minnesota Lake in 2024. Records also show Jepson had a prior domestic assault conviction from 2022.
The case remains under investigation and Jepson is facing felony and gross misdemeanor charges in Faribault County Court.
