The United South Central School District is planning for future growth as enrollment is expected to rise. A Facilities Committee meeting in set for 5pm on Monday, January 12th, in the USC Community Education Room.
Superintendent Taylor Topinka said the district has spent the past year and a half studying enrollment trends and building needs. A community task force has been reviewing data to help determine what kind of space and design will be support students.
Topinka says they’re at the phase now of looking at how enrollment is going to rise over the next 3-4 years. The district’s projections expect 30-60 more students over that period
The task force, made up of representatives from across the district, works closely with the school board and Topinka encourages community members to get involved and add to the conversation, no matter their view on the project.
Another community meeting is planned later this winter to gather input. That feedback could help shape a facilities proposal for a November ballot.
