A Blue Earth man is facing a gross misdemeanor domestic assault charge following an alleged assault during an argument earlier this month. According to the criminal complaint, police responded to a report of a domestic assault at an apartment complex in Blue Earth on Monday, January 5th. Officers spoke with the victim, who reported that she had been in her home with 54 year old Jason Bart Walker earlier in the day.
The victim told police an argument occurred and she asked Walker to leave. The complain alleges that he grabbed her by the hair and pulled her to the ground, then kicked her while she was on the floor. Authorities noted the two had previously lived together and were involved in a domestic relationship.
Walker is charged with gross misdemeanor domestic assault – subsequent violation, stemming from a prior qualified domestic assault related conviction in 2024.
Walker made his initial court appearance before Judge Troy G. Timmerman, who set bail at $0 with conditions. The conditions include a Domestic Abuse No Contact Order, random testing, and prohibitions on the use or possession of alcohol and drugs. Walker is also ordered to have no contact with the victim and is prohibited from entering her residence. An alternative bail option of $10,000 without conditions was also set.
