The Blue Earth City Council meet Monday and received an update from City Engineer Ben Rosol on ongoing planning efforts for upcoming infrastructure projects.
Rosol said work on the plans is continuing and will remain ongoing over the next several months.
He also highlighted a public open house that was held on December 18th, for residents in the Riverside Heights neighborhood who will be affected by the project. Residents were invited to review proposed layouts showing planned improvements and removals, along with informational handouts addressing common questions.
Despite blizzard conditions that night, Rosol reported strong turnout, with about 15 of the 25 impacted households attending.
Rosol said the city plans to conduct individual property and site visits in the coming month, noting that each home will be affected differently depending on factors such as well locations and septic systems.
The next step will involve meeting one on one with property owners to better understand what needs to happen inside each home as part of the project.
