Producers are being reminded about the Supplemental Disaster Relief Program, or SDRP, the only ad-hoc disaster program currently being implemented.
Officials say Stage One of the program began in July and covered producers who received a crop insurance indemnity. Stage Two, which launched in November, is now underway and focuses on so called shallow losses – losses that did not trigger a crop insurance payment.
To qualify for Stage Two, officials compare a producers total production value against an SDRP liability amount. Payments may be issued if production value falls below that threshold.
Producers who believe they had a loss but don’t see an application generated are encouraged to contact their local office and ensure crop insurance production was property reported.
The deadline for both Stage One and Stage Two applications is April 30th, 2026.
