Faribault County Public Works Director April Wellman brief the County Board this week on a wide range of construction and road projects happening around the county. She said most of the work remains on track as the season wraps up. Highway 35 is now essentially complete and Highway 17 from Frost to the state line has also been finished.
The Bricelyn project has been pushed back to the spring of 2026. Holtmeyer Construction will take on that work, but the company is currently tied up with other commitments, prompted the delay. Wellman noted that planning is still moving forward so the project can start promptly once the next construction season arrives.
Wellman also highlighted several safety improvements recently added along Highway 16 at the Frost and Bricelyn corners. The intersections now feature rumble strips, flashing stop signs and new overhead lighting. Wellman says those additions have made a noticeable difference and they already seeing safer traffic flow.
