The Faribault County Board of Commissioners met on Tuesday and at the meeting Sheriff Scott Adams and Deputy Chris Albers appeared before the board with a request to purchase a new vehicle for the Sheriff’s Office.
After reviewing options, the department selected a 2025 Ford F-150 STX from Fairmont ford at a price of $52,026.
Commissioner Bill Groskreutz, Jr. says despite a lower bid from a dealership in Omaha, Nebraska, Fairmont Ford was the way to go due to the time and sending two people down to pick up the truck. Plus the truck from Fairmont Ford is better equipped.
Groskreutz added that the County saved about $4,000 by purchasing the new vehicle this year. The new F-150 is expected to go into service after purchase and outfitting.
