According to the USDA’s weekly Crop Progress report, released on Monday, harvest is wrapping up across the Upper Midwest, with both Minnesota and Iowa reporting near completion of corn and soybean harvesting. As of mid-November, Iowa has harvested 97% of its corn and soybeans, matching the state’s five year average, Minnesota is close behind at 96% complete, also in line with typical seasonal progress. Recent dry weather has helped accelerate fieldwork in both states.
Winter wheat development is moving more slowly. Across the region, 79% of winter wheat has emerged, behind both last year’s pace and the five year average. In Iowa, 45% of the emerged crop is rated in good to excellent condition.
With only minimal acreage left in the field, producers are entering the final stretch of the 2025 harvest season.
