The Fairmont City Council met Monday evening for a special meeting regarding allegations against Council Member Britney Kawecki.
The meeting could have been held in closed session, however Kawecki opted to hold it in an open meeting format.
The complaint in question, made on October 16th, relates to statements made about a city employee during an open meeting.
The council was given the options that; no determination would be made, a hearing would be decided on or that more information could be pursued.
A motion was made and passed on a 3-2 vote, stating that the October 16th complaint against Kawecki met the criteria and that a hearing will be held on the complaint, where Kawecki will have the opportunity to provide evidence and testimony in support of her defense.
A date will be set for a hearing to be held in the next 30 days.
