Several Schools were named this week as part of a Minnesota Department of Education effort to recognize schools, “promoting positive behavior in school.”
A press release from MDE says the 95 schools recognized showed a dedication to Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports or PBIS.
The schools in our area recognized were; Fairmont Elementary School, Jackson County Central Middle School as well as Pleasantview Elementary and Riverside Elementary in the Jackson County Central School District, Lake Crystal Welcome Memorial Secondary, Mankato East High School and Waterville-Elysian-Morristown Elementary and Middle School.
The recognized schools represent 41 districts across Minnesota, as well as five additional districts that were recognized by the MDE for having at least five school participating in the PBIS programs.
The Minnesota Department of Education will officially recognize the schools Thursday at a ceremony hosted by MDE Commissioner Willie Jett.
