A vacancy in Minnesota’s 5 Judicial District will occur upon the retirement of the Honorable Allison L Krehbiel, who is chambered in St. Peter.
Krehbiel was appointed as a district judge in March 2002 by then Governor Jesse Ventura. She was elected to the seat in 2004, 2010, 2016 and 2022. Her current term was set to expire in January 2029. Preceding her years of service as a judge, she was assistant public defender in the 5th Judicial District from 1999-2002.
The application process is now open for the seat, according to the Commission on Judicial Section, with an application deadline of August 6th.
The commission expects to hold interviews in late August.
The 5th Judicial District serves Blue Earth, Brown, Cottonwood, Faribault, Jackson, Lincoln, Lyon, Martin, Nicollet, Nobles, Pipestone, Redwood, Rock and Watonwan Counties.
