The USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service has released the crop progress report for Minnesota and Iowa for the weekend ending July 13th.
Minnesota corn silking reached 19%, 3 days behind the 5 year average. One percent of corn has reached the dough stage across the state, the same as average. Corn condition was rated 74% good to excellent, the same as a week ago.
Corn in Iowa silking reached 36%, 1 day behind last year, but 1 day ahead of normal. Five percent of Iowa’s corn reached the dough stage. Corn condition was rated 85% good to excellent, a 1% decline from a week ago.
Minnesota soybeans blooming reached 43%, 1 day behind last year. Soybeans setting pods was at 13%, 1 day ahead of average. Soybean condition was rated at 75% good to excellent, a 2% improvement from a week ago.
Soybeans in Iowa blooming reached 54%, 3 days ahead of last year but equal to the five year average. Eighteen percent of soybeans were setting pods, 4 days ahead of last year and 3 days ahead of the five year average. Soybean condition was rated 79% good to excellent, the same as last week.
