The Faribault County Board of Commissioners met Tuesday afternoon and discussed two separate Conditional Use Permits.
Commissioner Greg Young says the first was for Stateline Cooperative in Marna for the installation of a couple of 30,000 gallons anhydrous tanks. There was some concern from a residence near the area, but Commissioner Young says that both sides addressed the County Board and in the end the Commissioners did approve the permit.
The second permit was for Betty and Sonny Berg for a cannabis microbusiness with retail operations endorsement. Young says the county is able to issue two rural licenses. This is the first in Faribault County to be approved by the state. After hearing about the product, hours of operation and security measures, the board approved the permit.
The Board also took time to recognize Dan Killion for 25 years and Bryce Werner for 5 years of service to the county.
