Two people are dead in the case of a deadly officer involved shooting in rural Albert Lea, in which the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is currently investigating.
According to the Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a domestic disturbance reported involving firearms at a home on 880th Avenue, just after 7pm on Tuesday.
Official learned that an adult male suspect left the property and was on the way to Mower County. Mower County Deputies located the suspect and initiated a vehicle pursuit, which ultimately led back to the original house.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, the suspect exited his vehicle, which prompted law enforcement to fire their weapons. The man was declared dead at the scene.
During a search of the property, deputies located a deceased adult woman near the residence. Investigators believe the woman died prior to law enforcement’s arrival at the home.
More information is expected to be released while the BCA investigates the situation.
