The USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service released the crop progress report for Minnesota and Iowa for the week ending June 8th. Field activities included cutting hay and spraying crops.
Corn planting in Minnesota is now complete, with 94% of the crop now emerged, compared to 83% last year at this time. Corn condition was rated 77% good to excellent.
Iowa corn planted is complete, with 92% emerged, 4 days ahead of last year’s pace, but 2 days behind normal. Corn condition was rated 85% good to excellent, up 1% point from last week.
Soybeans in Minnesota were 99% planted, compared to 86% in 2024. Soybean emergence is at 86%, 13% more than last week. Soybean condition was rated 73% good to excellent, a 1% decline from last week.
Iowa soybeans were 97% planted, while 88% have emerged, 10 days ahead of last year and 4 days ahead of normal. Soybean condition was rated 80% good to excellent, down 1% from last week.
