The Minnesota Department of Transportation announced plans for 12 new electric vehicle charging stations along Interstates 90 and 94.
The funding for these stations comes from nearly $10 million in state and federal funds through the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure program.
MnDOT secured $4.5 million in federal funds for the effort and will provide an additional $4.7 million from the state to support its mission of building a statewide EV charging network.
The new charging stations aim to enhance travel and business corridors across Minnesota.
Three locations were selected in our area; Francis Energy Charging in Blue Earth, Kwik Trip in Albert Lea and Francis Energy Charging in Jackson.
