The Faribault County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the homicide that happened in rural Wells weeks ago.
On Friday, October 1st, the Faribault County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of human remains discovered at rural property near Wells. Upon arriving at the scene, it was determined the death to be the result of a homicide.
The victim has been identified as 54 year old Miguel Angel Chavez-Lopez of Albert Lea, who had also been reported missing from that area.
Authorities have confirmed there is no ongoing threat to the public.
The Faribault County Sheriff’s Office is still investigating this case with the cooperation of the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, Albert Lea Police Department and the South Central Violent Crimes Task Force.
