Three Injured in Two Vehicle Accident South of Mapleton on Saturday

Three people were injured in a two vehicle accident late Saturday afternoon, south of Mapleton.

According to the Blue Earth County Sheriff’s Office, at approximately 5:18pm, a 1994 Ford Ranger, driven by 40 year old Corey Matthew Jaeger of rural Mapleton, was northbound on 584th Avenue and a 2005 Buick Le Sabre driven by 25 year old Freeborn Lewis Milks of Wells, was westbound on Blue Earth County Road 29, when they collided in the intersection.

Both vehicles went into a ditch near the intersection.

Jaeger was flown from the scene while Milks and passenger, 23 year old Taylor Celine Jacobson were transported by ambulance.  No additional information on the condition of those involved is available.

The intersection is controlled by a yield sign requiring traffic on 584th Avenue to yield to traffic on County Road 29.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
