A Fairmont Man Dies and Two Others Injured in Rollover West of Guckeen

The Faribault County Sheriff’s Department responded to a single vehicle rollover accident late Wednesday Afternoon which claimed the life of one person.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, the accident occurred just before 4pm on County Road 16 and 310th Ave, West of Guckeen.

Upon arrival, Sheriff’s Deputies sound a 1996 Ford Windstar Van overturned in the east ditch.

A man, identified as 32 year old Paul McDonough, of Fairmont, was trapped and had to be extricated.  Life saving measures were administered in an attempt to revive McDonough, which were unsuccessful.  He was pronounced dead at the scene.

There were two other occupants in the vehicle at the time of the accident, 18 year old Kado McDonough, of Fairmont and 18 year old Richard Murphy of Blue Earth.  Both men received minor injuries and were treated and released at the scene.

The crash is still under investigation by the Faribault County Sheriff’s Office and the Minnesota State Patrol.

The Faribault County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Blue Earth Fire Department, UHD Ambulance, Minnesota State Patrol and the Martin County Sheriff’s Department.
