County Commissioners Approves Security Changes & STS Contract (5/3/17)
One Tuesday the Faribault County Commissioners approved a change order for security upgrades to the elevator in the Courthouse. The amount was just under $4,000.
Jeremy Monahan, Director of Prairie Lakes Transit updated the Board on transit business and the Board agreed to amend the Faribault/Martin Transit Board Joint Powers Agreement to help cover the costs associated with a building upgrade to the facilities in Fairmont.
Board Members also approved a 2 year contract with the Minnesota Department of Corrections for the Sentence to Serve Program for fiscal years 2018 and 2019, for a cost to the County of just over $63,000 next year and just under $68,000 in 2019. Commissioner Tom Warmka said the program benefits cities in the County by helping with painting and cleaning up parks among other things.
The Board also received an update from County Engineer Mark Daly on construction projects, approved a bid with Midwest Contracting for a bridge project, appointed Rita Rassmussen to the Extension Committee and accepted MnDOT’s offer of $500 each for three parcels of tax forfeited parcels in the City of Winnebago for temporary easement for Road Construction purposes.
