At their meeting this week, the Winnebago City Council approved moving forward with the application process for a USDA Community Facilities Grant for the purchase of a new fire rescue truck for the Fire Department.
Council Members also approved the allocation of an additional $3,000 to go towards small business grants through the city’s EDA, to help businesses impacted by the coronavirus.
At a budget workshop, the Council cut $20,000 from the contingency fund for 2021. The council will be looking at cutting an additional 4-5% from the levy at their next meeting in November. The City has until December to finalize the budget and levy for next year.
