Iowa Reports 31 more COVID Deaths and 1,276 New Cases on Wednesday

The latest numbers from the Iowa Department of Public Health show 31 more Iowans have died from COVID-19 and 1,276 new cases have been reported.


The number of new positive COVID-19 tests reported for the time period brings the total number of positive tests to 109,573.


Of the people who have tested positive for COVID-19, 84,623 are recovered.


The data shows there have been 1,579 total deaths from the coronavirus in the state so far.  Of those deaths 786 were residents of long term care facilities.


There are 534 hospitalized patients with the virus in the state, up 33 the previous day and breaks another daily record high.  Of the hospitalized patients, 134 are in intensive care, with 49 of them on ventilators.
